Keto snacks to curb your cravings

Resetting your metabolism and eating Keto doesn’t have to be difficult. Planning well thought out meals is a positive step in the right direction, but not planning for a little snacking can lead to falling off track. Here are a few of our favorite snacks to keep on hand when eating Keto.

Guacamole & Bacon Chips

This one is my personal fave. It doesn’t feel like a diet when you get to use bacon instead of chips! We recommend whipping up your own guac:

  • 3 large avocados
  • 1 large spoonful of mayonnaise (we recommend Primal Kitchen mayo or Sir Kensington)
  • 1 large spoonful of sour cream
  • 1/2 a lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup of salsa (your choice, just check the nutrition label to make sure you are choosing a quality salsa.
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Mix all the ingredients by hand or in a food processor. Be sure to choose a thick cut bacon for easy scooping!

Hard boiled eggs

This one is so easy and convenient. An egg has about 75 calories, 5 grams of fat, and less than 1 gram of carbs! If you feel ambitious, you can even make some deviled eggs to keep on hand. I like to keep my snacks as simple as possible. Try this for an easy recipe:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/3 cup of mayo (Sir Kensington is my favorite)
  • 1 Tbsp of Tabasco
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Once you’ve boiled and peeled your eggs, remove the yolks and mix with other ingredients until you have a smooth consistency. Spoon the mixture back into the eggs and keep them in the fridge to chill.

Almond butter & dark chocolate fat bombs

These are a delicious treat that won’t knock you out of Ketosis. All you need is almond butter, coconut oil, a Keto-friendly sweetener, and some dark chocolate.

  • Combine 1/2 cup of almond butter (store bought is fine, but check the ingredients!) and 1/2 cup of coconut oil in a bowl and microwave until melted, stirring periodically.
  • Once you have a smooth consistency, add in your sweetener. We used about 10 drops of liquid Stevia.
  • Pour your mixture into your muffin tin and place it in the fridge to harden.
  • Once the fat bombs have hardened, melt your 1/2 cup of dark chocolate. Remember, the higher the cacao percentage the better!
  • Poor the melted chocolate on top of the almond butter in the muffin tins and throw back into the fridge to harden.
  • Enjoy!
